The Navajo Nation, Naabeehó Bináhásdzo, takes in 27,500 square miles of the high desert plateau in northern Arizona, stretching northeast from the Grand Canyon and Colorado River into Utah and New Mexico. This vast and intriguing land rich in geographic prehistoric history is home to the Navajos, as well as the Hopi villages set along several finger mesas. Hubbard considered this region his backyard and combed its back roads for more than 40 years.
